Longman

Pearson Longman was present at the IATEFL conference which was held in Novi Sad for the first time. We sponsored the plenary room and a workshoop room. Our guest lecturers were Anna Sikorzynska and Mike Mayor who came from Poland and the UK. Anna is a lecturer at the Centre for Foreign Language Teacher Education at University of   Warsaw and co-author of two important titles in ELT: (New) Opportunities and Challenges. She had a plenary session intoducing useful grammar in writing and taking an opportunity to make the audience laugh. Mike is the editorial director of Longman dictionaires and Penguin readers and he had a talk on vocabulary the students need.  

We also sponsored a 30-minute break called „Pearson Longman Tea Party“ where tea was served and every cup of tea had a note with a „fortune-telling“ saying with names of our titles and logo. Also, there were four prizes instead of the sayings. The prizes were LDOCE 5 dictionaires and  Penguin readers.

Furthermore, we decided to run our loyalty draw at the conference (the prize was trip to England to a teacher who has been using our books for at least five years). The lucky winner was Ljubica Šljuka, a teacher from Novi Sad who was simply thrilled on hearing the news.
