Longman
This year in September, Pearson Longman tradiionally organized its first seminar in school year 2009/2010. The theme of the seminar was „Reading and Literature in ELT“ presented by the two lecturers: Dragica Pavlović-Babić and Tamarzon Larner.
This means there were two thematic sessions from both lacturers’ views on the subject. Dragica Pavlović-Babić is an energetic figure and she was ready to give a new dimension to Pearson Longman seminars. Namely, she gave a talk on PISA project and on how successful were Serbian students who had participated in it. This stimulated many English teachers as educators to become more aware of the position of Serbian system of education. In addition, the teachers of English have always presented a sort of a vanguard of new ideas and have always had the most sofisticated materials to use in their class, which could lead to implementation of these ideas into the system and its development.
On the other hand, Tamarzon Larner for whom this has been the second time to visit Serbia had an opportunity to once again present her brilliance to the Serbian teachers. Her talk was informative, lively and to the point. Also, her useful tips for the teachers kept them very attentive and they were pleased with the presentation. After all, Tad is one of few who is able to involve teachers in an academic way and allow them to actually have fun. How amasing!
All in all, there were more then 550 participants in Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad coming form all over Serbia. This year Belgrade was especially crowded with almost every seat taken in the amphitheatre. Tad left Serbia satisfied as she did the last year, falling in love with Serbian food once again.
