Pearson Longman at 2007 ELTA Conference

As usual we have done our best to bring our most esteemed authors to the ELTA Conference.
Michael Harris, the author of the world’s best-selling course Opportunities and of the brand new but hopefully very successful Challenges, gave a speech on topic based learning. He also had a workshop on implementing listening tasks in the classroom.
The last day was devoted to young learners. Pearson Longman’s authors of Eko and Tina, a two-year course approved by the Serbian Ministry of Education and Sports for the use in the first two grades of primary school, came to promote the special Serbian Edition of this textbook. Mady Musiol and Magaly Villorroel gave very practical and helpful demonstration of how to use flashcards in the classroom.
Traditionally Pearson Longman made sure that teachers, in addition to all that hard work, had some fun as well! The Pearson Longman Surprise Party was actually a karaoke competition with Michael Harris as a host! All the teachers had fun and the best got some nice prizes as well

 

 

Great Teachers’ Competition
Great Teachers Competition ended and we announced the winners at 2007 ELTA Conference.
The teachers who got registration fee for ELTA Conference are:

            Danijela Stamenković, OŠ “Kosta Abrašević”, Resnik
            Jelisaveta Radović, Sumerhill LFC, Ruma
Danijela Duvnjak, a teacher from OŠ “Ujedinjene nacije” from Belgrade, was voted as the best and will be attending the Amazing Minds Conference in Cambridge, UK.
Hope to see all the participants from this competition as well as many others in our future Great Teachers’ Events!

Eko and Tina Author Tour

Since most of the teachers could not come to ELTA Conference 2007 we decided to take the authors of Eko and Tina, Mady Musiol and Magaly Villorroel, on tour. They had their presentations in Bor and Niš and were excited with the fact they met and worked with so many enthusiastic and smiling Serbian teachers. We all had much fun at the tour.
