This year upon entering one of the halls at the 54th International Belgrade Book Fair you could see a ship sailing under the slogan “The Sea of Books” capturing the attention of all passers-by. The blue ship also had a yellow flag on the top of it and, instead of sails, Penguine Readers were hanging from the mast and yardarm. It represented Pearson Longman and a fraction of its numerous books.
The Book Fair visitors could learn more about Pearson Longman and its activities in Serbia from a Power Point presentation which was constantly shown on the Interactive White Board.
The Book Fair was a good opportunity to present our Interactive White Board Software. Around 30 English teachers came to hear our up-to-the-point presentations and try out the software themselves. They found the idea of using the Interactive White Board in class appealing and appreciated the numerous possibilities it offers both to teachers and to students.

Since this year we had a large and well-positioned stand we set an activity for children in order to promote learning English. The children who took part in it were asked to draw their own English adventure and were each given a lollypop. We had around 150 children with their parents or teachers visiting our stand during the 7 days of the Fair. At the end of each day the best drawings were awarded with Penguin Readers and the ‘artist’ who made the best drawing of all was given a dictionary. The happy winners and their parents were thrilled to win books.

All in all, we had more than 200 teachers visit our stand during this Book Fair. Some of them were our loyal users, happy to see us there, and many were new, young teachers interested in all kinds of materials that Pearson Longman has to offer. We are looking forward to seeing all of them at our future events.
