Success is an English language course written specifically for secondary school students. It draws from the most cutting-edge developments in ELT methodology and practice and is clear, accessible and novel.

 

Success with its six levels takes students from zero beginner to an advanced level of English competency. It is aimed at fourteen to twenty-year-old students. The age range has been fundamental in defining the most important features of the course:

• Students are encouraged to use discovery techniques in order to learn the language.
• The topics in the course are interesting and related to students’ age.
• The course has a highly educational content with texts and tasks that deal with citizenship issues, literature, history, geography, art, science and technology.
• Success promotes maturity in its approach to learning through self-assessment strategies, topics and tasks which encourage students to think about what they read, rather than just respond to it.
• Success has a strong skills syllabus which means that it follows Common European Framework requirements.

Teachers who decide to use this course will get a lot of support in the Teacher’s Support Book where they will find ideas for warm-ups, extra activities and photocopiable activities, as well as the Test Master CD-ROM with all the testing materials in an electronic version, making it easy for them to customize it to their particular classroom situation.
